A piece inspired by the unified goddesses Sativa and Indica, and the divine love they offer in wisdom and healing. Using photos of favorite strains of mine as reference, I colored Sativa’s hair with citrusy shocks, and Indica’s with a rich berry perfume. The two meet above a spiralling third eye, open and unafraid, staring directly into the viewer. I chose to evoke energetic hands shifting in space itself in "as above, so below" positioning, as though to remind you that the holiness within the Goddesses is also within you as it is each of us. As in heaven, so is here on earth- we are all cosmic energy experiencing itself. I gave each of them a necklace with an Elder Futhark rune on it related to my personal experiences with cannabis in my life: dagaz on Sativa's neck is a rune representing enlightenment and daylight, for her ability to uplift me when I struggle. Uruz is on Indica, a rune of persistence, endurance, and healing for the countless nights she calmed and comforted me. Being introduced to them for the first time was a moment where I felt an incredible flood gate open within me, and creating this piece felt like an offering in thanks. There’s a reason they call this plant God’s Gift.
