The Garden of Eden
July 2022

Music has always been a major driving force in what we humans consider to be our spiritual existence. A simple key change can lilt spirits and cause tears to swell up in your eyes-- we all have that song that gets us every time. Just as much as the bounding choirs of ancient churches or the droning throat singing of Mongolian Monks, we still have those shared musical experiences with our fellow humans that make us feel like we're shimmering stars in the harmonic blanket of the universe. Those special music moments are in the everyday just as much as they are the grand.

I chose to depict two girls out on a midnight picnic, using a headphone splitter to listen to music under the full moon. They share a bowl together, and with that, the spiritual ritual begins. I lovingly put in little nods in the details to all the amazing people that have shared my journey with me. it's because of all of you that the soundtrack to my life is so rich.
